When Svetlana first reached out and told me that she and her fiancé were getting married on July 7th with no big party – just the two of them – I was so excited. Small weddings are my absolute favourite. They wanted to capture the feeling of the day and have photos in an urban environment that felt true to them. We talked about what they enjoy doing together and the areas they were curious to explore, and decided on Roma Norte and Condesa for their urban wedding photoshoot in Mexico City.
Cuando Svetlana se puso en contacto conmigo por primera vez y me contó que ella y su prometido se casarían el 7 de julio sin una gran boda, solo los dos, me emocioné muchísimo. Las bodas pequeñas son mis favoritas. Querían capturar las sensaciones de ese día y tener fotos en un entorno urbano que se sintiera auténtico para ellos. Hablamos de lo que les gusta hacer juntos y de las zonas que tenían curiosidad por conocer, y decidimos Roma Norte y Condesa para su sesión de boda urbana en Ciudad de México.
The couple flew to Mexico City from Monterrey – it was their first time in the city. We met in the morning at Parque México in the Condesa neighbourhood, one of the greenest areas in Mexico City, surrounded by stylish restaurants and parks. The atmosphere there is very relaxed, and the historic buildings feel authentic and unique. We stopped by a vintage car and took the first photos of the day – they almost looked like a Pinterest moodboard.
La pareja voló a Ciudad de México desde Monterrey; era su primer viaje a la ciudad. Nos reunimos por la mañana en el Parque México, en la colonia Condesa, una de las zonas más verdes de la ciudad, rodeada de restaurantes modernos y parques. El ambiente de este lugar es muy relajante y los edificios antiguos se ven auténticos y únicos. Nos detuvimos junto a un auto antiguo y tomamos las primeras fotos del día, que parecían casi un moodboard de Pinterest.
They were fascinated by the incredibly green, circular Amsterdam Street, where we took a few photos. I showed them some of my favourite corners and little parks, and then we headed to Roma Norte, where I wanted to photograph every block because the art deco architecture is so breathtaking.
Quedaron fascinados con la calle Ámsterdam, tan verde y circular, donde hicimos algunas fotos. Les mostré varios rincones y parques pequeños que me encantan y luego fuimos a Roma Norte, donde quería fotografiar cada esquina porque la arquitectura art déco es impresionante.

The couple wanted to exchange rings in a special place with a relaxed atmosphere and a memorable view. I recommended Blanca Colima, one of the most beautiful historic buildings in the heart of Roma Norte. We chose a very private spot overlooking the street, where they exchanged rings in a calm, intimate atmosphere while sipping their cocktails.
La pareja quería intercambiar anillos en un lugar especial, con un ambiente relajado y una vista memorable. Les recomendé el restaurante Blanca Colima, uno de los edificios más bonitos en el corazón de Roma Norte. Elegimos un rincón muy privado con vista a la calle, donde intercambiaron anillos en una atmósfera tranquila e íntima mientras disfrutaban de sus cócteles.
The bride wore a chic white suit and Converse sneakers, and the groom chose a white Fred Perry T-shirt and dark trousers – simple, stylish and perfectly them.
